What does a project manager do

Question

I am aspire to make a career as a project manager. I am a bit confused about the roles of a project manager. Can somebody please clarify as to what exactly does a project manager do?

As a Project Manager of an organization, you would primarily be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the completion of specific projects for an organization keeping the time and resources constraints in check.

You would drive each phase of the "project lifecycle" that includes the following phases:

1. Initiate

2. Plan

3. Execute

4. Monitor/control

You will have to communicate with the team members, stakeholders and identify the issues and resolve them while keeping track of the budget, time, and other resources so that it gets approved by the client/stakeholders thus building trust.
