I have worked as a UI/UX developer at a startup after graduating with a bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering. I have an year's experience. Recently one of my friend suggested me to attend an interview for a devops role. Can I switch to it?

Of course you can!!! But considering your prior experience, I think your experience won't matter as DevOps is a completely different process and it involves an altogether different SDLC than Agile life cycle. So its better to first get acquainted with devops basics and do some dummy projects in it.

DevOps is one of the best platforms and is trending in the present job market. There are no particular prerequisites for this.

Anyone who has a basic knowledge of UI/UX development, Application, and Software development can pursue the various courses in DevOps.

A DevOps Engineer is an IT Professional working hand-to-hand with Software Developers or they are those Developers who have interests in deployment and network operations, who have a passion for coding and scripting and then move to development side so as to improve the planning of deployment and testing.

You could definitely be a Devops guy, you just need to learn a few devops tools that constitute CI/CD process and you will be good to go!

Yes, you can switch to DevOps but first, decide what role in DevOps. I don't think DevOps has any role related to UI/UX development. It's a completely different domain. You have to prepare yourself in different tools and technologies used in DevOps. You have start fresh.
