How much salary should I ask for

Salary hike time is coming up and in my company, we have this tradition that employees are allowed to tell how much salary they think they deserve before the raise is actually decided. I am not sure how much salary should I ask for. How can I know what is the right salary?

It would have been if you had mentioned what you are working as and how many years you have been working. It would be easy for people here to give a specific answer. Now, that you have not mentioned it, I will tell you what you (or anybody in this situation) can do. The best way to find out the right salary to ask for is to look at the job listing sites (like glassdoor). You'll get an idea of salary for your role and your experience. And then keeping that salary range in mind and depending on your performance, you can decide how much salary you should ask.

Hey,

This is a crucial question to ask to your authority, there must a percentage of how your company maintains hikes for employees. Try to get that information first then see what technology or domain you are working on and how far you have been in your company. Try to ask your elders or seniors who have good work experience and knowledge about this field. Otherwise, you can do one thing search for your domain and get how much salary hike actually you deserve. According to that make an appeal to your authority in a described manner, how far you are working, what and all contribution do you have for the company. I hope to keep these points in mind, it's not going to hammer your reputation at your workplace.
