Will blockchain be feasible in future when the ledgers will be of a larger size

Blockchain uses distributed ledger.. It means each peer has a copy of the ledger.. Every ledger has data regarding to the previous transactions, so with each ledger, the size of the ledger keeps on increases. So in future, when the size of the ledger is too big, will it be suitable and feasible to use the distributed ledger concept?
