Is it a good choice to work in just one company throughout your life

Hello. I have recently joined an IT company and I like it here. There are few people who have been working here for more than 10 years. Been over a year and I never felt for a second that I have to change the company. But from a career perspective, is it a good idea to stay in a single company throughout your life?

Yea, why not! if you are satisfied with all the facets of your company (pay, career growth, opportunities, perks). I would definitely stick to one if i got all of that under one umbrella!

There are many reasons for a person to change the job or the company. Some of the most considerable things are:

• Salary
• Job role
• Work satisfaction

Let's consider these parameters one by one. You need to ask yourself these questions. 

Are getting paid well? Are you satisfied with your salary? If yes, then the first parameter is checked. Most people change companies because get a higher salary compared to their hike in the same company. 

Next is your job role. Will you/are you getting promoted like you deserve or are you underappreciated? Another reason for people to change companies is to get promotions. If you are being appreciated well and being promoted as per your satisfaction then this box is also checked.

The last reason for people to change companies is that they are not happy with what they are doing or there is too much pressure or the work environment is not good. If you are satisfied with your work and like the work culture then this box is also checked. 

I think if you ask these questions to yourself and get the answers, then you know whether you need to change companies or stay there.
