First of all Route 53 is a service provided by Amazon. You can use Route 53 in the Networking and Content Delivery section in AWS Console.
Route 53 is a highly available and scalable DNS web Service by Amazon.
Route 53 is mainly used for 3 purpose:-
DNS Registration:- Your website or web application needs a name, Route 53 lets you register a name for the same.
Route Internet Traffic:- Route 53 helps you connect with your website or web application when you search for your domain name on your browser.
Chech Health Status:- Route 53 sends automated request over internet to check the availability of your website or web application and sends you notification if it is unavailable so that you can route the requests to a healthy resource.
