Tableau not showing all data in box and whisker plot

0 votes
In tableau, I'm trying to make a box and whisker plot.

It appears to be eliminating duplicates before using all of the data points in its calculations.

For example, two rows in my backing CSV have the value 93, but only one of them is used to make the charts.

This implies that my assumptions are erroneous.

When I look at the data, there are no duplicates, but when I look at the underlying data, all of the values are correct.

I'm not sure why this is, and I can't get the calculation to take all of my data into account. Nothing related to my problem has been found through googling. Is there any explanation for this? I haven't selected anything like eliminate duplicate data or anything like that, and I can't seem to discover anything that will assist. The fact that tableau removes duplicate data without alerting me or providing me the ability to undo it is incredibly disconcerting.

I found it out after an hour and a half of cursing Tableau's name. The issue was that Tableau didn't make it evident how to construct a basic point plot. I chose "Dimension" for my row data type because it would otherwise only give me an aggregate value like sum or average, which would be useless for a box plot. Select the Analysis menu item and deselect "Aggregate Measures" to allow it to plot actual points, including duplicates.

This is puzzling because it appears to imply that your aggregate functions are all or nothing, and that you decide whether or not to use aggregates at the worksheet level rather than the data series level.
