What are the differences between coin and token

Can somebody tell me the difference between coin token and protocol??

From the readings I have the following conclusion: ethereum is a protocol, ERC20 is a token, ETH is a coin.
Am I right??

Coins are cryptocurrencies that are independent and operate inpedently from any other platform. They are stand-alone
crypto currencies.
Ex: Bitcoin, Litecoin, Ethereum.

Tokens are dependent on other platforms and need other platforms(such as etheruem) to operate.
Ex: Augur, Omisego, golem.

You can see in the below image the list of Tokens and the platform they are dependent on,
