The skills that you need to become a data analyst are
1) You need to be good at statistics as data analysis is about interpreting numbers.
2) Not only statistics you should be able to formulate a problem properly because badly framed questions or hypotheses lead to errorneous results
3) Finally you should be good with the tools like SPSS and excel which help in the analysis of data.
