Clustering strings in R

Is it possible to perform clustering of strings in R? How to do?

Convert the field as factors and use in km() to find clusters.

Then change legends as per string values.

For suppose, species of iris datasets need to be clustered using km(), convert them into factors using as.factors().

Then change the legends as per requirement using guides or scale_fill/color/shape/size/_descrete/continuos.
