Filter Measure Based on Different Variables of the Same Dimension

Hi, i want to filter students using USN to classify students into departments and sections from a student database. Can someone help me how to classify and filter students using above?

Roll numbers are in the format 1[a-z][a-z][17/18][cs/is/ec/tc][0-180].

Hi Nithin, I used calculated fields. You can use regular expressions to do the same too

1. Create a calculative field to classify students from different departments.

2. Create another calculative field to classify students into sections.

3. The groups are as follow.

4. Now add both the fields into filter shelf to perform filters.
