P3 instances provided by AWS that are the next-generation of EC2 general-purpose GPU computing instances. These instance are powered by up to 8 of the latest-generation NVIDIA V100 GPUs. The new instances significantly improves the performance and scalability and also adds many new features e.g. new Streaming Multiprocessor (SM) architecture for machine learning (ML)/deep learning (DL) performance optimization and 2nd gen NVIDIA NVLink high-speed GPU interconnect.
G3 instances provided by AWS come with NVIDIA Tesla M60 GPUs which provide a high-performance platform for graphics applications using DirectX. NVIDIA Tesla M60 GPUs support NVIDIA GRID that is a Virtual Workstation features, and HEVC hardware encoding. Now, each M60 GPU in G3 instances supports almost 4 monitors which has a resolutions of 4096x2160, and is licensed to work with NVIDIA GRID Virtual Workstation for every Concurrent Connected User. Eg of some of the applications of G3 instances are 3D visualizations, graphics-intensive remote workstation.
