Is any kind of certification required to become a Technical Architect?

Well, there is no need to get a certification for it, an under grad degree would be great to get into this field, masters would just be like added honey to sugar making the companies want you even more. Most of the learning is done through experience.

Yes, these days certifications have become really important as that's become a requirement to even clear the first few rounds of the interview process. There are a lot of diploma courses available, you could get yourself enrolled there. These courses go on for almost about 3-4 months. Or even better, take up an online course which gives good customer service as well and you can just learn sitting at home.
