• Maintain conceptual, logical and physical data models along with corresponding metadata.
• Perform reverse engineering of physical data models from databases and SQL scripts.
• Evaluate data models and physical databases for variances and discrepancies.
• Validate business data objects for accuracy and completeness.

Data Modeler structures the data stored in the Database in such a way that it is efficient for the computer software to utilize it for processing. So, a Data modeler will study the data stored and create a structure for easy access and utility of data.

When there is a Database, there is also a Database Management System(DBMS) that controls how the data transactions happen. A Data Modeler manages how the data flows from the Database flows through the DBMS and structures the space required for the data to flow without any problems or complications.
