Why does my Power BI report display different results when opened by different users even though they are using the same dataset

Why does my Power BI report display different results when opened by different users, even though they are using the same dataset?

Some users in my organization are reporting different results when viewing the same Power BI report, even though they are accessing the same dataset. I suspect it might be related to row-level security or cache settings, but I’m not certain. Why might Power BI reports display different data for different users, and how can I resolve this to ensure consistent results? Any guidance on troubleshooting would be appreciated!

When working with a Power BI report, if users are getting different outputs with the same view of the dataset, the root cause is most likely related to:

Row-Level Security (RLS): RLS is a feature that limits users' access to data based on their roles. Suppose users belong to different roles that restrict data viewing. In that case, you may use the "View as" function in the Power BI Desktop to depict the roles of various users while simplifying your understanding of the Power BI application.

Filters and Slicers: Users can also apply personal filters or slicers, thus determining the ideation of the data. It is recommended that users clear all applied filters before opening the report.

Cache Settings: Information accessed can be old since some data may be cached. In this case, update the dataset and advise users to close the report and open it again to access the updated information.
