the cloud platform which are not used for devops implementation

0 votes
This question probes which cloud platforms might not support the implementation of DevOps or provide limited capability in DevOps practices such as CI/CD, IaC, or container orchestration. At the time of evaluating a cloud platform's aptitude towards DevOps, pay attention to the size of automation, deployment, and collaboration tools it offers and the ease of its integration with the commonly used DevOps tools, such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Identify cloud providers that do not have strong native support for DevOps or do not easily integrate with DevOps workflows.

  • Most significant providers like AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and IBM Cloud are heavily utilized when assessing cloud platforms for DevOps, as their services fully support automation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, and monitoring. In contrast, some cloud platforms are not specifically designed for DevOps, as they emphasize other strengths, such as specialized data storage or business applications.
  • A prime example is Dropbox. While Dropbox is an efficient cloud storage service, it is not built for application deployment or infrastructure management but rather for file storage, sharing, and collaboration. It lacks DevOps-centric features such as virtual machine provisioning, container orchestration, and automated monitoring and alerting—the heart of DevOps workflows.
  • Similarly, Salesforce is one of the largest cloud platforms for CRM and enterprise applications, but it is not designed to meet the needs of DevOps. Even though it has development tools for customizing applications for CRM and despite having various infrastructure and deployment tools, its integration of these infrastructure and deployment tools is not deep enough to meet the requirements of application lifecycle management of DevOps in its full capacity.

Those solutions, such as Dropbox and Salesforce, may be of use for specific purposes but have not been built to support end-to-end automation and scalability with application management in DevOps.
