Android Studio Could not initialize class org codehaus groovy runtime InvokerHelper

Question

I'm a newbie to Android Studio. Following setup, I encounter this problem when attempting to import an application, preventing Gradle from being able to build.

Class org.codehaus.groovy.runtime could not be initialized, which is an error.

InvokerHelper

I made sure my Java classpath setting was correct. Windows OS is what I'm using. Does anyone know where the mistake came from?
