Sync contacts using Google Contacts API version 3 0 and NodeJS Passport

I'm using passport and would like to sync Google contacts with my app using the Google Contacts API version 3.0. (which would suddenly become 10 times more useful).

Has anyone attempted this? If that's the case, do you have any sample code? Is it even possible to get everything to function using passport authentication?
