I have some files in Git repository. I want to check the change history of an individual file in Git. How can I do that?

You can use gitk for this task. gitk is a graphical history viewer. Think of it like a powerful GUI shell over git log and git grep. This is the tool to use when you're trying to find something that happened in the past, or visualize your project's history. Gitk is easiest to invoke from the command-line.
