  • I have worked in Mainframe 16 years and recently learned Hadoop. Expecting to change to Hadoop technology asap. But when I try outside with this resume nobody called for interview. Everyone expecting more than 3 years of Hadoop experience. I learned Hadoop thinking that I will be having weightage to get a job as I have this additional qualification and which can be very rare in the present market scenario. Am expecting to get selected if any project which needs both these technologies. Any other suggestion to get myself moved to this new tech!!!

      I am also PL-SQL developer with more than 6 years of experience. However, I quit my job due to family reasons since 2 years and want to join IT and go back to work.
      So thought to build up my skill with Hadoop technology and join some institute to learn it. but not sure how far it will be helpful to me especially for experienced people in some other field like PL/SQL.         Coz regarding the live projects it seems they are based on development .
